Here are some articles I have written throughout the years. Most of them are quite old going back to high school.

Forward

I, Mentis of Ager Facundia, descendant of Mentis of Infinitus, Intellect of the first order, Minister of Science under the Imperator, Nova XXV, in the four-thousandths one hundredth and twentieth year since the uniting of the seven tribes under the Mokon the Wise, do inscribe theses words, to preserve them for our posterity, and to show the glory of the empire to all.

The History

At the dawn of the empire, there were seven tribes, Reparo, Dominus, Mentis, Fabrica, Miles, PaxBellum, and Tutamen. These had warred for many centuries. Hundreds upon hundreds were slain upon the cold wasteland. Than from the fertile plain, Ager Facundia, came one man, Mokon the Wise. His wisdom united the seven tribes and with his guiding, the empire was founded in the city of Infinitus. People flocked to the great city as Mokon the Wise inscribed his laws. Than one night, a bitter cold night, Mokon the Wise vanished from the city, never to be seen again. Warriors were sent out in every direction to scout for the lost leader, but with no prevail. He left but one object, upon which was engraved the words, "The Iron Chariot will come in the Empire's greatest time of need". It remains a mystery to this day, for no Imperator since than has being in dire need of its guidance.

As the city mourned, life carried on. The city grew and plans were made to expand it. The cities industries expanded into the sea of the unknown and great whales were found. Their great bounty expanded the empire ten fold. On and on the city grew until a new group of brave men set out eastward to found a new city. In the two hundredth and fiftieth year since the uniting of the seven tribes under the Mokon the Wise a new city, Militarius was founded. The empire expanded onward as the Intellects formed a system of the alphabet, which became the ancient hieroglyphic form that is rarely seen anymore. Southward in the lush forests another city was founded, Veris, the city that would become the supply center for much of Imperium Infinitus. This was the dawn of the Empire.

Than on that fateful day, in the five hundredth and fiftieth year since the uniting of the seven tribes under the Mokon the Wise, near the newly established city of Veris, a warrior, proclaiming himself to be an emissary from Photar the Redeemer, appeared on the horizon. The Dominuso of Veris greeted the warrior and a simple treaty was signed, from which the course of the Empire would forever be changed.

These strange people, known as the Scelusdrebs, came from a southern marshland below Ager Facundia. They had laid claim to Ager Facundia, which was the homeland of Mokon the Wise, and therefore it was and is the land of Imperium Infinitus by right of virtue. Many ways by which to deal with them arose. The warriors wanted to crush their weak civilization, while the Dominuso wanted to ally with the barbarians. In the end, however, the Intellects had their say, for as the warriors and Dominuso endlessly debated on the way by which to go the Intellects drafted a treaty, Pactum Ager Facundia. It was a treaty, which would amend their infringement on the empire land, and curb the wrath of the mighty empire. The treaty was written as follows:

Greetings from Emperor Mokon, Sovereign of Imperium Infinitus, Master of Ager Facundia and Imperial Commander of Militarius Infinitus. You have laid claim to the land below Veris by Ager Facundia a land that is ours by right of virtue. We spare our wrath and offer the following treaty to be signed by both nations.

Pactum Ager Facundia

I… It is hereby established that the nations signed below will enter into a strategic alliance, the Socius, under the following conditions. I… The nations entering into this alliance, the Socius, hereby agree to provide for the common defense of each other whereby if any external nation aggresses upon one nation contained within the alliance the others will provide a defense to the best of his ability or will counter attack the aggressing nation. II… The nations entering into this alliance hereby agree to remain peaceful with each other until the disannulment of this treaty. III… It is herby agreed that upon a verbal permission troops maybe moved throughout each other's lands. Exceptions to this are as follow: caravans, diplomats, settlers, explorers, triremes, caravels, and warriors maybe moved though each one another lands for exploration, expansion, or trade. Also in a time of war wherein another outside nation is aggressing upon one nation contained within this alliance forces maybe be moved through each others lands to provide for a common defense. IV… Borders will be established wherein permission must be received in order to expand into another's area. V… Trade will be commenced among nations within the alliance. This may or may not include knowledge, caravans, units, cities, and maps. No nation contained within this alliance may trade units, maps, and cities to external nations without the consent of all nations within the alliance. Knowledge or gold with a value less than 200 may be traded with external nations at anytime, however, it is recommended that consent of all is first gained and it is also required that all nations within the alliance be notified of any transfer of knowledge or gold to any external nation. Any amount of gold more than 200 must be approved as with cities units and maps. Caravan trade lines can be setup without notification to any nation.

II… It is hereby established that Ager Facundia is the land of Imperium Infinitus by right of virtue. To amend the infringement upon this right by the Drebonanians the following plan will be undertaken. I… To start immediately all expansion into Ager Facundia by the Drebonanians will be ceased. Until temporary borders can be established. Once they are established the Drebonians are limited to five cities on the continent whereon lies Ager Facundia. II… Imperium Infinitus and the Drebonanians hereby agree to assist each other in the relocation of the Drebonanians. The Drebonanians will first find a site which they wish to relocate to and thereafter the nation of Imperium Infinitus will tribute five settlers, four caravans, one trireme, and fifty gold. Once the Drebonanians have five cities on this new continent they will tribute their remaining cities on the continent wherein lies Ager Facundia to Imperium Infinitus III… The city south of Veris is to be immediately given to Imperium Infinitus in exchange for republic as soon as it becomes available to Imperium Infinitus. IV… It is hereby noted by Imperium Infinitus that "This relocation will assure the that both nations will be able to thrive. Under the current circumstances, the land upon which we both trod is not large enough for a true civilization. If our two nations can agree to this peace, peace will in no doubt, follow for many ages. If not, our nation will be forced to take drastic action."

III… It is hereby established that this treaty maybe amended at anytime by a unanimous vote of all parties signed below.

It is hereby signed that the aforewritten treaty will be followed by all parties. In any case, whatsoever, whereby this treaty is broken, by one party, the other party is not required to follow this treaty for it is thereafter null and void.

As the warriors predicted the Scelusdrebs rejected the treaty, so southward the Empires' warriors drove, past the Scelusdrebs city of Photoria to Ager Facundia were they would stay for many years, preventing any more expansion into Ager Facundia, and therefore curbing the wrath of the Empire. Within this time of constant watchfulness, the Empire continued to expand. In the northern forests a small dismal city was founded, Silva. Silva would turn into one of the greatest explorer cities in the Empire, of course some wonder if the fact that it is such a great explorer city is because of the fact that so many of its youth can't wait to escape its dreary grip.

It was also during this time which the Imperator contracted a network of spies. From which information upon the Scelusdrebs would pour in, of course as soon as these spies were contracted it was uncovered that they were truly working for the Scelusdrebs, a discovery that would lead to the empires use of them to give false information to the Scelusdrebs.

The Empire continued to expand; the city of Ora was founded near the Scelusdrebs capital of Drebonaria and at the fringes of the Empire, a small city was founded, a city that would become the heart of the empire, the Imperial city of Reparo. Early in this city's youth, construction of the Hanging Gardens began, and from there, the city would begin it accession to glory.

The first of the myriad of ideas that would come from the Imperial city of Reparo was of a Monarchy. This new idea on government solidified the laws of Mokon the Wise into written laws, eliminating much of the waste and corruption that was so rampant in the empires' despotic beginnings.

With the empire prospering, as it never had before the Scelusdrebs grew envious. It was one thousand and six hundred years since the uniting of the seven tribes under Mokon the Wise when in the plains of Ager Facundia the chariots of the Scelusdrebs fell upon the two warrior regiments. One was slain by the brutal barbarians, but not with out killing half of the charioteers. It was a glorious victory for the empire, slaying many of the charioteers that had outnumbered the warrior nearly ten to one. Inspired by the glorious defense of Ager Facundia the other warrior regiment fell ruthlessly upon the charioteers, slaying all but one, which they captured and set with a message back to Photar the Redeemer, "Your civilizations existents is now forfeit to Imperium Infinitus".

Back in Veris word spread of the victory, however, the warriors were not pleased. They noted how the lumbering forces of the empire were slow to counter attack; therefore, they commissioned a new code for warriors, along with constructing barracks in Veris and Infinitus. From these cities new warrior, archers were created. These surrounded Photoria, staving the inhabitants.

As the siege continued on for many years by Militarius, another city, Parvus was founded, and the empires modern system of writing was created. With this new invention diplomats where created to spy on the city of Photoria. Seeing that Photoria was weaker than thought the empires' archers poured down upon the city, taking in out with minimal loses.

A recreation of the Battle of Ager Facundia

Southward the empires armies move to the Scelusdrebs capital of Drebonaria. The most curious of structure was created with in this city, a wall. Sabotaging this defensive structure with the empires diplomats the armies of the empire once again fell upon the Scelusdrebs. Destroying their city with ease, the empire learned the knowledge of Masonry, with which they could create city walls for the empires cities. In the following years, the rest of grand army continued to the southern swamplands slaying all that remained of the barbaric Scelusdrebs.

It was in the two thousand five hundred year since the uniting of the seven tribes under the Mokon the Wise that across the sea, from the south rumors of a grand wonder being constructed by the Ilithians, the Pyramids, reached the empires shores. This spurred the empire onward, and they founded a city in the homeland of Mokon the Wise, Ager Facundia, and they expanding the knowledge of the empire with trade and currency being developed.

In the two thousands seven hundredth and fiftieth year since the uniting of the seven tribes under the Mokon the Wise the last of the Scelusdrebs were destroyed on Terra Facundia. The savages that remained from their empire sailed northward to Ora, where some of them set up some businesses that would continue to cause the problems in Ora for many years to come. The rest sailed onward where they savagely took over the Spanish government, killing the leaders and declaring they had the right to rule the Spanish.

Back on the empires' shores, this was also the year in which Reparo finished construction on the Hanging Gardens. With this grand new wonder came a new form of government, the Republic. This new form of government created the Department of Ethics and Morals that eliminated even more of the corruption in the government by mobilizing the power of consumers. However, with this new form of government, not all were content and for years, this would hinder the empire until the construction of Michelangelo's Chapel.

The empire continued to grow as the years passed. Mare and Flumen were founded, trade lines were set up, and libraries were constructed. In the three thousandth one hundredth and twenty-fifth year since the uniting of the seven tribes under the Mokon, the Wise a group of two groups of barbarian legions landed near the city of Flumen. They took the city of Flumen without a fight, since the guards had not yet reached the empire. Sending out a diplomat from Reparo, the Barbarians quickly were awed by the glory of the empire, and therefore for a measly twenty-three gold they agreed to rejoin the empire.

A map of the cities of the Empire

In this same year in the city of Reparo, the golden age of Imperium Infinitus began with the ideas of Philosophy. Mathematics was discovered and very soon after Astronomy was also discovered. With this discovery, Reparo, with caravans of supplies from the other parts of the empire, constructed Copernicus Observatory. The empire expanded as Praesidium was founded to guard the southern most point of Terra Facundia and as Portus was founded in the north.

The Imperial City of Reparo in this Modern Age

The intellectual though was unmatched as the ideas of the university and the theory of gravity were discovered. Reparo continued to grow though the ages, constructing Isaac Newton's College. With all of its great advances throughout the golden age, Reparo the grand city of Imperium Infinitus shown a beacon to the rest of the empire.

On the three thousands five hundredth and twenty fifth year since the uniting of the seven tribes under the Mokon the Wise, as a group of explorers from Praesidum traveled southward though the dangerous waters, a city, Loth Lorien was discovered. This was the land of the rumored Ilithians that had constructed Pyramids. They were the most curious of people, short and elf like. The Dominuso of the empire created a treaty with the Ilithians whereby it was agreed that neither would aggress upon the other.

As the great explorers of the empire forged on through the seas a new continent, Nova Terra was discovered. In the Bay of Nova Terra, opposite the Bay of Mare, a new city, Nova Urbs was founded. From here, the entire continent of Nova Terra was colonized. Seven new cities were establish, Nova Ager Facundia, Nova Flumen, Pontis, Palus, Oris, Mons, Nova Veris, and Nova Praesidium. It was a cold new continent, attracting only the bravest of souls, however, it promised new untold riches.

The two continents of the empire

In the three thousandth, six hundredth and fiftieth year since the uniting of the seven tribes under the Mokon the Wise of the coast of the Imperial City of Reparo the Scelusdrebs were once again spotted. The defensive forces of Reparo were prepared as the Barbaric Scelusdrebs landed. They had strange gray beast, which they rode on. These attack the city of Reparo and the countryside; however, with the sporadic and foolhardy strategies of the Scelusdrebs they were easily repelled. They gray beast, Elephants, were than conscripted into the myriad of knowledge that the empire all ready had.

The unrest in the empire had continued to grow ever since the establishment of the Republic. To deal with this a grand project was undertaken in the city of Ager Facundia, Michelangelo's Chapel. With this new wonder, the empire entered a new age, in which an invasion of Terra Sceleratus was planned. The warriors prepared for this invasion of land of the Scelusdrebs. Triremes were constructed in the costal cities while diplomats were commissioned in the inland cities. As the triremes scouted around the land of the Scelusdrebs, in the year three thousand eight hundred and seventh five since the uniting of the seven tribes under the Mokon the Wise, a ship from a king named Lord Fuzzy of the Hyrule was seen. This peace-loving king quickly signed a treaty of non-aggression, agreeing to stay out of the war with the Scelusdrebs. With the Hyrule dealt with the invasion of Terra Sceleratus began. Diplomats poured into their lands destroying many of the improvements in their cities. The city of Terrava was also bribed, from which we gained the knowledge of Chivalry, the Wheel, and Iron Working. With the short time that the empire held this city some of the improvement were sold and some units where disbanded, paying for the cost of bribing.

There was also a part of this war that is seldom talked about. It was the factor that lead the Scelusdrebs to leave their cities so ill defended, that of a plan of a colossal invasion being launched around the world to hit the Scelusdrebs backside, a plan given to them though their very own spies. It was indeed one of the factors that lead to the empires success.

With the city back in the hands of the Scelusdrebs a naval war began of the coast, one in which the triremes from Ora crushed what remained of the primitive Scelusdreb navy. As the war raged on the empire's fleet near Terrava meet disaster, for as they were based from Ora, some of the Scelusdrebs influences that had been based in Ora so long ago had managed to place agents on the ship. With this, the crews mutinied the captain and proclaimed allegiance to the Scelusdrebs, however, since they had done so it was regretfully ordered that they were to be destroyed. The rebellious ships sank from the triremes of the empire this would serve as an example to all who dared to defy the great empire. As this war raged on it was quickly determined that the empire had to expand more to gain more territory and thus two cities, Flumen and Portus were sanctioned as the cities that would fight the weak Scelusdrebs.

As this skirmish raged on a tribe of barbarians raided the city of Militarius, defeating the antiquated warriors that stood garrison there. With this, a crusade was launched to free the city, a crusade that disappointed many for its short duration. It was commonly said among the warriors that life is dull due to the fact that there is no real enemies to fight; a saying would change with the realization that a horde loomed in the distant seas.

This was also the time of great diplomatic strides. Three major treaties were forged. First, there was Pactum Tributarius, a treaty, which placed the Hyrule in their rightful place as a vassal under the empire's protection. It was wholeheartedly accepted by Lord Fuzzy, along with a trade for his maps. The treaty was written as follows:

Greetings from Emperor Mokon, Sovereign of Imperium Infinitus, Master of Ager Facundia and Imperial Commander of Militarius Infinitus.

Pactum Tributarius

I… It is hereby established that Lord Fuzzy and Mokon agree to commence trade of technology, Mokon's portion, and gold, Lord Fuzzy's portion. I… To do this Lord Fuzzy will set his Tax rate to its maximum and his science rate to a zero. II… To do this Lord Fuzzy will sell structures within his empire. III… The first trade will be Philosophy for 1000 Gold.

II… It is hereby established that this treaty must remain a secret.

III… It is hereby established that Lord Fuzzy will agree to Pactum Socius and attempt to sway Nick and Matt to agree.

III… It is hereby established that this treaty maybe amended at anytime by a unanimous vote of all parties signed below.

IV… It is hereby established that this amendment approved by all parties.

It is hereby signed that the aforewritten treaty will be followed by all parties. In any case, whatsoever, whereby this treaty is broken, by one party, the other party is not required to follow this treaty for it is thereafter null and void.

Also at this time a treaty was given to the Ilithians, Hyrule, and the Ragnars, a simple tribe found in the cold fringes of the Terra Elf, the continent of the Ilithians. This treaty, while not being rejected, was quickly "forgotten" about by the Ilithians and Ragnars. This Treaty, Pactum Socius, read as follows.

Greetings from Emperor Mokon, Sovereign of Imperium Infinitus, Master of Ager Facundia and Imperial Commander of Militarius Infinitus.

Pactum Socius

VI… The aforementioned limits on trade between Mokon and Lord Fuzzy do not apply. They may trade as they please without notifying other nations within the Socius

II… It is hereby established that article III of this treaty is acknowledged by all parties as being accurate, and the war that has resulted between the Scelusdrebs (Jolin) and IIANS (David) for the Scelusdrebs not compiling is a justified war on the part of the IIANS. The nations within the Socius agree not to interfere or assist the Scelusdrebs in ANY way.

III… It is hereby established that Ager Facundia is the land of Imperium Infinitus by right of virtue. To amend the infringement upon this right by the Drebonanians the following plan will be undertaken. (This Article is out of date, see article II for its purpose.) I… To start immediately all expansion into Ager Facundia by the Drebonanians will be ceased. Until temporary borders can be established. Once they are established the Drebonians are limited to five cities on the continent whereon lies Ager Facundia. II… Imperium Infinitus and the Drebonanians hereby agree to assist each other in the relocation of the Drebonanians.

IV… It is hereby established that this treaty maybe amended at anytime by a unanimous vote of all parties signed below.

It is hereby signed that the aforewritten treaty will be followed by all parties. In any case, whatsoever, whereby this treaty is broken, by one party, the other party is not required to follow this treaty for it is thereafter null and void.

The final treaty that was written during this time was to the Scelusdrebs. At the time they had been begging for mercy from the empire, this was therefore written.

The lowly barbaric tribe of the Scelusdrebs is acknowledged by the great Emperor Mokon, Sovereign of Imperium Infinitus, Master of Ager Facundia and Imperial Commander of Militarius Infinitus, with this treaty which will curb the wrath of the great Imperium Infinitus.

Pactum PaxBellum

I… In exchange for a ceasefire, the Scelusdrebs agree to tribute the following. I… The large city just below Terrava with all the units contained within. II… The city near the coast, from which the IIAN diplomats have been coming ,and all the units contained within. III… The city on Terra Nova Sceleratus formally known as Barcelona and all the units contained within. IV… All the remaining gold within the Scelusdrebs treasury

II… It is hereby established that article III of this treaty is acknowledged by all parties as being accurate, and the war that has resulted between the Scelusdrebs (Jolin) and IIANS (David) for the Scelusdrebs not compiling is a justified war on the part of the IIANS.

III… It is hereby established that Ager Facundia is the land of Imperium Infinitus by right of virtue. IV… It is hereby established that this treaty maybe amended at anytime by a unanimous vote of all parties signed below

V… It is hereby established that Jolin's empire is acknowledge by Jolin to be call the Scelusdrebs by IIANS

It is hereby signed that the aforewritten treaty will be followed by all parties. In any case, whatsoever, whereby this treaty is broken, by one party, the other party is not required to follow this treaty for it is thereafter null and void.

As expected, this treaty was refused by the Scelusdrebs. In the diplomatic summit in which they refused this treaty, the most curious of practices was revealed. It seems that the Scelusdrebs find paper tasty, a practice that would explain many of their irrational behaviors.

While diplomacy dominated much of this period, the Intellects also developed Invention during this time. With invention, Ager Facundia constructed Leonardo's Workshop, a chain of government businesses that sold and distributed the new muskets that the empire has acquired. With this wonder, and the invention of Gunpowder, the defensive garrisons in all of the cities were all upgrade to the modern units, sealing the weakness that allowed Militarius to be taken earlier.

Here the history of the empire, the infinite empire, takes a short break on its long path to the stars. With the empires resent discovery of Democracy we have risen to new heights. Yet there is still many years to travel, we must use the iron chariot to crush the horde, we must colonize new continents, but that is the future, and I, Mentis of Ager Facundia, am not able to tell the future, that will be a story that some one else will have to tell, as the empire continues on its path of destiny.
